Honestly, I remember the rumors and fear that my colleagues (especially our India) team had, and how I coached my boss (then the director and now the SVP) the key things he needed to say that he wouldn't have otherwise said. I remember hearing from others how much that helped.
I have helped so many colleagues, especially ones as they joined our company through acquisition. There is so much dissonance that people need to work through, and there is often no formal coaching role that anyone plays to support that in the integration process. <3
