How to avoid distractions and keep focus during sessions

Based on how your brain works
2

In this podcast, I am talking about 3 ways to avoid distractions and keep focus during workshops, training, or any session that you facilitate.

  1. Create a cell phone sleep bag - you can create it from paper or other material, customize it and place your phone switched off there for the time of the session - I got this idea from a great workshopper master, Jan Keck who has also a useful newsletter referred to in Resources.

  1. Get focused: Mental focus follows visual focus. To increase your level of focus on the task you are about to do, stare at a point on a wall or screen, or object for 30-60 seconds before starting (You can blink as needed).

  1. Performing your own Stroop Test. The original Stroop test included two parts. In the first, the written color name is printed in a different color of ink, and the participant is asked to speak the written word. In the second, the participant is asked to name the ink color.
